Together, with our partners around the world, Links’ training aims to do just this! “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness/justice, for they will be filled,” said Jesus. Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? Martin Luther King said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter!”
We are calling this appeal “That None Go Hungry”, whilst also aiming to stoke a hunger for justice within an apathetic and distracted day an age, where so often we care more about the latest celebrity gossip flooding our news or social media feeds, than the desperate needs off our global neighbours, crying out for help as they sit on our digital doorsteps. Don’t scroll on! Don’t get distracted by another reel and miss the opportunity to both feed, to hunger, and to ultimately be filled!
There is more than enough food to completely alleviate world hunger, yet every 16 seconds someone dies of malnutrition. Here in the UK it is estimated that 1 in 3 eat way more than necessaryAs a nation, we spend more annually on rubbish bags than half the world spends on all of its goods put together!
Our work in Links allows us to challenge racial and gender inequality, ecological and economic disparity, alongside responding to disasters and crises that are often a result of the unjust systems that globally wreak havoc and so often go unnoticed. Will you join your voice with ours? Will you give generously into our work around the world? Will you pick a fight? Will you stand with us so that none would go hungry? Will you confront poverty and with your life, words, and actions, join with us to declare “No more!”?
