Faith in Action Ministries is a Links Act4You project based in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh (India).
Like many of our Act4You accounts education is huge part of the impacts they are making to vulnerable communities. One of their programmes is St Joseph’s School in Nallajeerla which provides high-quality Christian-values education for children up to the age of 16 years. Many children from the rural villages in the area are unable to attend school and get an education.
Children like Meenakshi and Deeta whose dad suffered a spinal injury whilst harvesting fruits to sell and can no longer work. Or the children of the families who lost everything in floods, including their crops, so have no harvest to sell. It’s not for a lack of desire but instead is because the families are living in poverty and are unable to afford the education and transport fees required to get to school. Finding extra money for education is often beyond their means.
St Joseph’s school seeks to provide access to education for these children by giving means-tested subsidised fees and having a fleet of buses to transport the children to school. But the need is great and more buses are required. To that end, FIAM are aiming to raise £24,000 by taking part in the Big Give Christmas appeal, whereby every £ donated through the campaign will be match funded.
Donations have to be made between December 1st and 8th 2026 to qualify for match-funding.
If you would like to support FIAM’s campaign to buy another bus and help children like Meenakshi to go to school, please donate at:

Norman and Pat have just visited the Links Africa Hub in Kenya! Norman's first trip to Kenya was in 1994, when he spoke at a conference organised by Brenda Marshall and Peacemakers just outside Embu. He tells us all about what it was like returning 32 years later.

Over recent months, our partners have been responding to a number of devastating crises around the world, including earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia, flooding in Pakistan, and severe flooding and landslides in Nepal. While emergency support provides a vital lifeline, lasting transformation comes when people are given opportunities to rebuild livelihoods, generate income and restore dignity.
