A Hand Up not a Hand Out
At Links, business development has always been a central theme to our work in a holistic way. We have often spoken about the old adage of, ‘Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life’. However, we know that it has to go deeper than this. We must also work together to provide the means to fish and to remove the obstacles that stand in the way. The resources and methods are just as important as the basics of fishing. Needless to say, we may also find ourselves in situations where we need to find innovative ways to remove the obstacles that injustices have placed in the way, thereby giving people access to fish.
Time and time again we have seen that, as we join with people to help them onto the first rung of the ladder, they are more than able to pull themselves out of poverty and into their potential.
WE WANT TO BE A DRIVING FORCE IN EMPOWERING MORE PEOPLE GLOBALLY TO HAVE FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY THROUGH BUSINESS PROJECTS
The Scriptures say that, ‘God gives us the power to prosper to establish His covenant in the earth' (Deuteronomy 8:18), and we passionately believe in seeing people empowered to step out from the stranglehold of poverty and step into their potential.
WILL YOU JOIN WITH US TO SUPPORT LINKS AND OUR PARTNERS TO CREATE MORE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES?
As well as micro-enterprise, Links also works hard in supporting our partners to set up income-generating projects that support and engage their local communities for the better, such as computer cafes, agriculture, farming projects and livestock.
All of these elements play a pivotal role in how we can work together to bring more individuals, families and communities out of poverty in a truly sustainable way which, in turn, instils a sense of ownership and empowerment.
Your support will make a very real, measurable impact for people, empowering them to set up a business that brings themselves, their family and even their whole community out of poverty.
WHERE COULD MY MONEY GO?
£10 = Could purchase a gift of fruit trees or moringa trees which provides a sustainable source of income
£25 = Could fund beekeeping equipment to help someone to start a honey and honeycomb business
£40 = Could provide a family with a goat, a pig, or two chickens and feed for a year, to help them build a business around livestock
£85 = Would cover the average cost of a new MED project in the majority of the world
Thank you for joining with us.
We are in it together.
