On September 9th, Destiny Called, and our Links Family lost our Matriarch, our Spiritual Mother, our Prayer Champion, and biggest advocate. Grace Barnes finished her race and left this world to enter the eternal presence of Jesus.
Grace’s life is a consistent and faithful testimony to the power and grace of God. From surviving the War as a young girl in London to following God’s call to reach and minister to the nations, the impact of her life of service resonates around the world. Grace lived with a courageous faith that has challenged all of us to greater things. Overcoming hardships and trials along the way, she never stopped pointing people to Jesus. Our unexpected loss is heaven’s gain.
We are grateful for her steady presence, leadership, and influence through the years, and there would be no Links without the persistence and many sacrifices of Grace. We join a grateful, global community in praying for Norman, her many friends, her spiritual brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, and extended family.
Well done, Grace. Thank you for finishing your race like only you could. Your example of being a faithful servant is something we will carry with us for all our days. Your legacy is more than you could ever imagine, and we look forward to the day when we will see you again. We love you.
There is going to be a memorial/celebration service for Grace on the 14th October. The venue is: The Littlehampton Acadamy, Fitzalan Road, Littlehampton, BN17 6FE. The service will be beginning at 6.30pm and finishing at 8pm. This time is open to all who wish to come and celebrate Grace's life and amazing story.
The cremation is going to be livestreamed - details below. The evening service will be filmed and shown at a later date via YouTube. It was Grace's specific wish that there is no one wearing black and no flowers. Any gifts to be donated to Links as we have set up a fund in her memory.

In a rural corner of South Asia, where disability often means isolation, shame or exclusion, a rare and radiant gathering recently took place. Hosted by South Asia Access (an Act4You account) in partnership with Joni and Friends, a U.S.-based Christian non-profit dedicated to serving families affected by disability, the International Family Retreat became a sacred space of rest, restoration and radical belonging.
