What a year it has been for fundraising! Kilimanjaro has been climbed, flowers have been grown and sold, marathons have been run, crafts have been made, events have been held. The FUN has well and truly been put into fundraising!
One of our strong focusses in 2023 is going to be celebrating together with people again at events, and reconnecting with existing and new partnerships, whether with businesses, churches, organisations, schools or individuals. We really do believe that we are ‘in it together’ and that our strength comes from our connectedness. We are excited to be able to showcase the new branding and make our voices heard in front of a wide and diverse audience.
Check out our social media and e:link updates to find out where and when some of these events will be! Also, if you happen to be at these events, please do come and say hello, or even consider volunteering to help us run the stand!
Could this be the year you take on that challenge that you have always promised you will do? If so, why not raise sponsorship for Links and maximise what you are able to accomplish? Due to the pandemic, we have a number of places that have rolled over for the London Marathon. It is an amazing event that you will not regret being a part of!
Another exciting development is our School Partnerships which we are beginning to see grow. Do you have a potential school connection that would be interested in forming a partnership with Links? If so we would love to hear from you!
We loved being able to host two Drinks with Links events, one in May in the South at a beautiful vineyard location; and one in November in the North at a Cuban bar.
Both events were a great opportunity to showcase Links and what we have been up to recently! It was great to connect with longstanding supporters, and those just starting out on their Links journey.
As well as sharing updates and sharing some of the heart of Links, we also enjoyed delicious food and drink, heard from partners and listened to volunteers telling us amazing stories from Links trips they had been on. It was so great to be together.
We can’t wait for more Drinks with Links events next year!
Our Christmas Grotto events are always a fun way to raise money as well as spread some festive cheer in our local community! This year is no different. We were back at two locations raising money for Links whilst getting in the Christmas spirit!
We transformed the Links Office (and summer house) into a winter wonderland for over 60 children and families to enjoy!
As well as this, our wonderful friends at Arun Church hosted a community Christmas event, which included a grotto, live music, crafts and stalls, and all profit made from the event was kindly donated to us at Links. The Links team were involved with spreading the word in the community and it was such a great time!
It has been great to launch our school, church and business Partnership Programmes this year and this is something we can’t wait to develop as we head into 2023. It’s been great to connect with churches, share our vision and build on relationships with them.
As well as this we have started school visits, chatting to primary aged children all about changing the world and how they can make a difference right now, where they are. The children have even been coming up with fundraising ideas and getting creative with how to raise money for us which is exciting.
As ever, we are so incredibly thankful for our business partners who support us and show such generosity to our work. Some new partnerships are forming for the next year so it’s so exciting to see this side of our work grow too.
Believing for the right doors to open to allow us to continue and multiply in the coming year.
We really enjoyed attending Creation Fest this year and being able to share Links with so many people as well as chatting with other organisations too! We are planning to be attending other events around the UK in the coming year and we can’t wait!
We have partnered with Cameron James Legal to work with you on how you can leave a legacy in your will and how this can be set up. We are going to be launching this and sharing this with you all in the next few months so keep a lookout!
After 2 years of waiting, our Links USA Office was able to host a Drinks with Links evening on March 4th. Over 60 people attended the event, including most of the Links USA Team and even some Links USA missionaries.
It is always an honour to share about the work of Links and to say the people in attendance were overwhelmed would be an understatement. We celebrated projects of Confronting Poverty and Creating Potential, honoured donors, connected with new people, shared the good news of Jesus, and we even ended our presentation with a video from Norman. To close out the evening, it was a privilege to pray for the Nance family who moved to live and work in Japan this year. It was an incredible evening all around!
Grateful doesn't begin to express how thankful we are to everyone who came out to be a part of our first Drinks with Links post-pandemic. The generosity, prayers, encouragement, and partnership of our Links Family, allows us to continue working together to take good news to the ends of the earth.
We are proud to announce that we are partnering with Alpha Omega Gymnastics this coming January at their Galveston Island Winter Beach Blast Invitational in Texas. $10 from every entry fee into this event will go to benefit our Never Thirst Again campaign to send clean and safe water solutions to the places who need it most. We will also be attending the event to raise awareness for even more water projects in 2023.
If you are local to Houston, please let us know if you want to volunteer and join us at the beach for this event. It is going to be a BLAST!
