Here is an update from our partners in the Philippines, Kalayaan Community Ministries. They have recently had another fire near their main base in Tondo. This is the third fire and this one has wiped out 900 homes.
KCM writes:
"With great sadness we write to tell the news of another fire near our main base in Tondo. Another fire right next to where the last 2 were, wiping out 900 homes. Our staff at the time of fire opened KCM’s gates and hall as droves of terrified families ran to find a safe place. Streets are so very narrow, and so the worry is that people get blocked in and fire engines get blocked out. Sadly there was a volunteer fireman that lost his life.
Since the fire, we opened our toilet facilities for fire victims as they are living in packed evacuation areas. We also opened the main hall and made charging stations so people could keep their phones alive as they tried to locate friends and family members.
With funds that came from partners we bought food, personal care items and hundreds of underwear. People literally lost every material item. As affected families came we had gentle worship music in the background. There is just so much loss for people that had little to begin with.
Our children’s coordinator and social worker have been looking for families that we directly worked with. They found 2 sibling groups that come to kids church. They were alone sleeping in a jeep while their Father worked to earn money for food. It was not a safe situation, so we got permission for them to sleep in KCM until there is a safer alternative.
Please pray for all whose simple homes that are now ashes. Pray for our team as we respond as well as others on the ground including government agencies, charities and other ministries. We are thankful that some financial help was given to the families from the government.
Pray that somehow through this tragedy that the God of all comfort would draw hearts to know Him in a life changing way. The bible says that He is the God who is near to the broken hearted.

Praise
Praise that our 70 tutorial students have started learning routine and structure well and enjoying lots of sensory learning lead by our teachers.
Teacher Reyvie birthed a healthy (gorgeous) baby girl!
During the 2 weeks of monsoon and typhoon the new hall did not flood at all.
Huge thankfulness that a little boy who was terribly physically abused and continually showing trauma responses for several years is showing signs of healing now and out of the family of origin home. He is being able to stay regulated enough that we have been able to start him on one on one tutorial. This seemed impossible a year ago. (Please keep praying for him)
The team led and served so well during Ron and Joanna’s absence.
Praise at the encouragements and connections old and new from partner churches and friends during Ron and Joanna’s 2 months trip in the UK.

Prayer
For the 2 sibling groups from our kids church that have no safe place to sleep. We have permission for them to sleep in KCM for the mean time.
Prayer for a new physical abuse situation that was disclosed last week. Pray for wisdom for us, justice in the social work system and for the young teen.
That we would see Jesus continue to save and transform lives in the communities the KCM teams serve in. He is the answer and only true hope.
Provision to sustain all the areas of the work each month.
Prayer as we begin planning for a youth camp that God willing will happen in October. (Hope to send more info about that soon!)
We do not take your partnership for granted, and are so thankful for every single individual that continues to pray for this mission and/or gives financially.
With much thanks,
Team KCM"

The streets of London came alive last weekend - a sea of determination, community spirit and unstoppable energy. We are so grateful to our amazing runners - Ben, Mikey, Abi and Helton.

Stepping into Ghana for the very first time felt like walking back into the roots of Links International’s story. It was here, over 40 years ago, that our founders Norman and Grace Barnes first connected with inspiring missionaries and began building the partnerships that would shape Links’ mission.

South Sudan is the world’s newest country, having gained independence from Sudan in 2011. Unfortunately, despite abundant natural resources, it is also the world’s poorest country. Here is an update from our amazing Act4You project, Supporting Child Health in South Sudan.

In Malawi over a decade ago, in a small rural community, Links took a chance on what many thought was just a fad - moringa trees, sensationalised at the time as 'Miracle Trees'. Packed with vitamins and minerals, edible for both humans and livestock, fast‑growing and hardy in hot climates, these trees seemed to have real potential.
