Thank You Anya!

Recently we had the pleasure of welcoming Anya to Links for her work experience placement. It was fantastic to have her as part of the team and to share with her the work that goes on behind the scenes to support communities around the world.

During her time with us, Anya spent time learning about the different roles within the organisation and gaining an insight into what it takes to run a charity. Reflecting on her experience, she said:

"During my week of work experience at Links I have really enjoyed getting to know all the lovely people that work with the organisation and learning about what all of their jobs entail. I have found it really interesting to see all the behind the scenes work that goes on to run the charity.

What stood out to me is the passion and care that everyone at Links approaches their work with and the love, kindness and hope that the organisation stands for.

I have also learnt the importance of giving communities the training they need to support themselves going forward and harness their ability to pull themselves out of poverty, providing long-term changes instead of a short-term project."

We are incredibly grateful to Anya for her thoughtful reflections and for the enthusiasm, curiosity and positivity she brought to the team throughout the week.

It is always encouraging to see young people engaging with the values that underpin our work: empowering communities through sustainable development, building local capacity, and creating opportunities for long-term change.
