Pakistan - April 2023

‍Joe Gisbey, along with Links volunteer Kamran Khan, were able to visit our partners working into Pakistan. Whilst Links has worked with various partners in the nation for many years, both directly and indirectly through our Act4you ministry, this was the first time that we had the opportunity to visit and see first hand the incredible work being carried out!

It was an incredibly challenging and inspiring time, joining with laid-down lovers of God, willing to give their all in such difficult circumstances to follow Jesus! I have been deeply impacted by the testimony in both words and deeds of our amazing brothers and sisters in this land. Despite intense persecution, the church is alive and well in Pakistan and God’s Kingdom is advancing, bringing hope and transformation to so many in darkness.

We are so excited to look at how Links can continue to workin partnership with these heroes on the ground, to deliver projects, healthcare, business development and ongoing support as they confront poverty and create potential!

Uganda - July 2023 - Wellspring + UWCM

In Kampala, Sam Walker spent a few days with Wellspring Uganda, meeting the team and sharing a message with their Sunday gathering. The church has a committed group of young people serving their community.

In Mbale, Eastern Uganda, Sam's visit was mainly to follow up on a MED scheme started in 2022 with Uganda Women Concern Ministry and offer some Strategic Management training to assist their five-year vision planning. MED is offering an expanding route to maintain and grow economic sustainability within their organisation.

Nicaragua - July 2023 - The Hope Project

Our Links USA office took an amazing team to Nicaragua to spend time with our partners at The HOPE Project. The team had the honour of providing the following ministries and much more:

- Links Water Filter Systems to families along with food essentials, beds, and mattresses (for people who had only previously slept on the dirt floor)
- Leadership Training for the Hope Bible Institute and The Hope Project Team
- Preaching Ministry at La Fuente (4 people come forward to receive Christ for the first time)
- Home visits and prayer for families in need
- Food and ministry to the elderly
- Washed feet and distributed new shoes to over 200 children and several adults

‍Malawi - August 2023 - Bunches + Malawi Partners

Since its beginning Bunches has always wanted to be a business that makes a positive impact on the world, giving from its profits to make a difference to people’s lives. Links and our partners are so blessed to have an ongoing connection and support from Bunches.

In August, Bunches' directors, Dan and Dani Turner, and their three daughters, came to see the work of our Malawian partners where Bunches' support has made the greatest impact, particularly in helping set up larger income-generating projects in the last few years.

During their week in the warm heart of Africa they visited five partners focusing on multiple solar irrigation projects and MED schemes. The impact of these projects is reaching hundreds of vulnerable and poor households across Malawi.

‍Thailand - October 2023 - HANDS

Joe Gisbey, his son Zion and Sam Walker spent some time in Thailand visiting our longstanding partners HANDS. HANDS are doing so much amazing work including sensitisation to prevent trafficking, supporting families, running a children’s home and community centre and managing agricultural projects.

During their trip, they were able to visit a number of families with members who have additional needs.

Whilst they were there, they were able to find the perfect wheelchair for a 12 year old boy with cerebral palsy. It was such an amazing example of God’s timing!

Having Sam there as a trained physiotherapist was invaluable as he was able to show the family exactly how to use the new chair to best support and develop the child’s muscles as he continues to grow. It was beautiful seeing the joy this brought! Thank you Jesus!

‍Dubai - October 2023 - Pioneer International

Joe Gisbey, Zion and Sam Walker also attended a Pioneer International conference in Dubai. The conference had the theme of ‘Conquering Territory’ and Joe spoke on ‘Conquering Territory Financially and Strategically’ but with the remit of sharing the why, what and how of what Links can potentially offer. It was a great and very valuable time spend mostly connecting, building relationships and networking.

We are so excited for our growing partnership with Pioneer!

Panama - October 2023

Our recent team to Panama delivered 25 water filters that are giving clean drinking water to almost 1,500 for the very FIRST TIME! Can you imagine not having clean water for the entire history of your people group? This clean water is GOOD NEWS for our new friends – the Kuna people. The Kuna are a previously unreached people who have now been reached with the Gospel, and this water solution demonstrates they are loved bigger than they ever thought possible.

‍Kenya - November 2023 - Pioneer International

In November, Sam Walker had the privilege of representing Links at the East Africa Pioneer International conference in Nairobi, Kenya. Presenting and connecting to over 100 church leaders from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. We see many new partnerships starting with those in this region who are passionate and dedicated to see the Kingdom impact their communities, both spiritually and strategically. 

We thank Pioneer International for these key opportunities for networking to so many like-minded churches and organisations.
