Triumphant Mercy are a Links partner based in Beirut, Lebanon who focus on serving the Lebanese people through providing critical aid, education, vocational training, spiritual and psychosocial services support and livelihoods.
Thus, the TM team were delighted to recently host Helen Harrison, lead trainer of 360Life and participate in the training that Helen brought to them. 360Life is a Links Act 4 You project and topics covered in the workshop included understanding trauma, mental health, active listening and how to have a more trauma-informed approach in all aspects of programme delivery and interpersonal skills. Given the recent history of Lebanon, lived experience of significant traumas is a major area of commonality between the beneficiaries of all the programmes, as well as the team members themselves, and the relevance of the workshop had a bearing on reflections not just relating to programme delivery, but also to personal experiences of traumatic events. The team enjoyed participating in the teaching and interacting with the different topics, and the workshop closed with the delivery of presentations that had been put together by the participants as they considered the application of the learnings to the day to day running of the programmes.
Nuna Matar, CEO of TM said ‘The 360Life course put the light on how the brain works and inspired us to review some of the ways that we are ministering to people and consider how we can be more effective when recognising different learning styles. Thank you for inspiring us’.
