Walking 100km for India - From Vigo to Santiago Spain

This October, our amazing supporter and fundraiser Nick will be taking on a challenge that will push him well beyond his comfort zone - walking 100km from Vigo to Santiago de Compostela along the Camino de Santiago.

Nick says:

Over the course of several days, I’ll be walking for hours at a time across hills, countryside, and long stretches of open road. It’s going to be physically demanding, mentally tough, and at times uncomfortable - but that’s exactly why I’m doing it.

I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for New Life Ministry, a cause that means a great deal to me. 10 years ago Joe Gisbey and 7 of us did a ministry trip to Shillong in NE India.

Whilst there, we travelled to a village in the jungle called Langkarcha, which LINKS International has been supporting. We listened to NLM’s vision to build a school that would have a lasting impact on the children in the surrounding area, helping to provide them with a better start on their journey through life.

The school has been established and is currently providing education to over 140 children between the ages of 6 and 14. However, as the needs of the children and the school continue to grow, their urgently need additional resources to keep up with these everyday demands.

My goal is to raise £4,000 to help meet these essential needs and ensure that the children can continue to receive a safe, supportive, and quality education.

Every step I take is driven by the hope of making a difference. Whether it’s helping individuals, supporting families, or contributing to vital work being done every day, your support will have a real impact.

To make things even more interesting (and keep me going when it gets tough), I’ll be sharing updates along the way — the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
