This month our CEO Joe, was able to reconnect with some great friends from Links past at the International China Concern (ICC) retreat in Vancouver Canada. ICC do incredible work with disabled children in mainland China and have a number of national offices around the world that help raise funds and awareness to support this work. Links and ICC have partnered with one another in various ways over the last two decades, and it would be true to say that we have mutually benefitted from this great relationship between the two organisations, which has influenced and helped mould our collective culture.
Last year, with Founder Dave Gotts, taking on the CEO role of ICC again, Joe was approached to join the International Board and the retreat in Vancouver was a great opportunity to be able to connect with the wider international team of regional offices, boards and the team that manages the projects in China itself.
Joe writes:
What an incredible opportunity to meet together with such a group of heroes!
It is a real honour to be able to serve this great organisation in the amazing work that they are carrying out in China, and I look forward to this next chapter for ICC and also the many ways that our connection together continues to bless and support the work of Links too. We had such a great time together in the beautiful setting of Keats Island, just off of the coast of Vancouver, with a mixture of culture development, both spiritual and practical input, alongside meetings to look at the overall governance and systems within the organisation itself. All this with the stunning backdrop of the majestic snow-covered mountains surrounding us. It was very inspiring to see how such a far reaching, diverse team were all held together for a common caus,e with a vibrant faith filled culture underpinning everything that they are doing. I left feeling privileged to be able to serve and full of excitement for the future.
Please do check out their great work and I am sure that you will be hearing more from Links’ involvement, as we continue to partner with ICC into the future!

Stepping into Ghana for the very first time felt like walking back into the roots of Links International’s story. It was here, over 40 years ago, that our founders Norman and Grace Barnes first connected with inspiring missionaries and began building the partnerships that would shape Links’ mission.

South Sudan is the world’s newest country, having gained independence from Sudan in 2011. Unfortunately, despite abundant natural resources, it is also the world’s poorest country. Here is an update from our amazing Act4You project, Supporting Child Health in South Sudan.

In Malawi over a decade ago, in a small rural community, Links took a chance on what many thought was just a fad - moringa trees, sensationalised at the time as 'Miracle Trees'. Packed with vitamins and minerals, edible for both humans and livestock, fast‑growing and hardy in hot climates, these trees seemed to have real potential.
