At Links, we believe business can be a powerful force for good.
That’s why we’re launching the Hand Up Appeal: Building Sustainable Futures - an appeal focused on helping people access the skills, resources and opportunities they need to build sustainable livelihoods and move beyond poverty.
We believe a hand up can go much further than a handout. Through our Micro-Enterprise Development (MED) programme and income-generating projects, we support people to start businesses, develop skills, create employment and build brighter futures for themselves, their families and their communities.
From agriculture and livestock projects to cafés, computer hubs and local enterprises, we’ve seen what can happen when people are given the opportunity to thrive. Our MED programmes have reached communities across Africa, Latin America and Asia, with an average 90% loan repayment rate - a powerful reflection of ownership and sustainability.
The Hand Up Appeal is also about the role business can play in global transformation. We’re bringing together our UK and US business partners with our incredible partners around the world, demonstrating how business can be a force for good and a powerful expression of mission.
As Scripture reminds us:
“God gives us the power to prosper to establish His covenant in the earth.”
Deuteronomy 8:18
At the heart of this appeal are real people, real businesses and real stories of transformation.
Not handouts, but hand-ups.
Not dependency, but opportunity.
Not short-term solutions, but sustainable futures.
Together, we can invest in people, unlock potential and help communities thrive for generations to come.
This is the Hand Up Appeal.

At Links, we love connecting the Church around the world. One of our longest Church Connect partnerships is between Hope Missions Ministries (HMM) in Malawi and Ashwood Church in the UK.

Here is an update from Links USA. One of the greatest joys is spending time with so many leaders around the world who are giving their lives for the betterment of others. They love, they serve, they care and the work with a relentless devotion to what God has called them to.

In the wake of the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to every supporter, church, partner and donor who has stood with Links during this emergency response. Your generosity, prayers and encouragement have enabled us to work alongside remarkable organisations, reaching families and communities in their darkest moments.

Summer is a season for bringing people together. Whether it's sharing coffee in the garden, baking with the family or clearing out the garage, the simple things often create the biggest opportunities to make a difference.
