Sam Walker, our Africa Region Coordinator, has been back in the UK for a few months since August, meeting with Links staff and church connections. Sam is a longstanding member of Ashwood Church in Nottinghamshire, who have historically been amazing supporters of Links involvement with partners, even having a team visiting Hope Missions Ministries in Malawi in 2019.
Annie and Francis Mkandawire, Directors of Hope Missions Ministries, have also been in the UK for a few weeks and they shared with Ashwood Church the impact the church has had in their community over the years through the connection with Links. Ashwood Church have also recently had their 50th Anniversary as a congregation, and Sam has been involved in showcasing Links and our work with Hope and other partners, during September. They are looking to send another church team out to Malawi in 2024!
It's amazing to see this cross continental and cultural exchange going on over the last 6 years through one of Links' church connections! Find out more about Church Connections here.
Sam will be heading back to Africa in November - and will be joining Joe, our CEO, to meet church partners in the Middle East and Asia during October. It's great to have Sam around with our team and Links family in UK in-person for a good chunk of time!

It was here, over 40 years ago, that our founders Norman and Grace Barnes first connected with inspiring missionaries and began building the partnerships that would shape Links’ mission.

In Malawi over a decade ago, in a small rural community, Links took a chance on what many thought was just a fad - moringa trees, sensationalised at the time as 'Miracle Trees'. Packed with vitamins and minerals, edible for both humans and livestock, fast‑growing and hardy in hot climates, these trees seemed to have real potential.
