Last year marked the beginning of a new Church Connect partnership between River Church in the UK and Seeds of Promise in Malawi. The first trip created valuable opportunities for cross-learning and collaborative resourcing. Seeds continue to serve hundreds of families in their local community, and River’s team, guided by Seeds, supported their children’s feeding programmes, sports outreach, and staff development.

Here is what one of the River team said about their first Church Connect visit:
"I have had a career in international development. So, I have to be honest when I went there it was a little bit with a bit of a forensic attitude. Is this the organisation we want to partner with? So, I was looking for effectiveness. I was looking for quality and I was looking for a charity that really made a difference. And to be very honest I was blown away.
This is a charity that is so effective, so passionate and walking with the people. It's not one of those charities that's got the great big head office. It's not got layers of management. It's not got your fancy briefcases. It's down in the ground. It's working with the community.
In fact, you know, it's based in the community. It's unbelievable. And you just know that the money is going where it needs to go. And I was really blown away by that because I've only really worked for big organisations where you do see unfortunately quite a lot of waste."
This year, River is preparing to send their second Church Connect team to Seeds in Malawi.
