As the new year began, heavy rains struck Malawi and Zambia, severely impacting two areas where our Links partners serve.
In Lundazi, Zambia, a dam burst destroyed many homes, including those of volunteers with Shiloh Hands of Hope programmes. Among them was Alick Mwanza, a long-time Community Healthcare Volunteer. Shiloh quickly organized a relief programme, supported by Links donors, to reach 30 affected households. Teams visited families, offered counselling, and distributed emergency food packages, blankets, and solar lamps.

Meanwhile, in Malawi’s lakeshore region, Hope Missions has been ministering alongside majority Muslim communities. When the rains came, newly planted crops were washed away and rising waters displaced households. Hope assessed the situation and focused on helping families replant in safer, low flood-risk areas. With support from Links, they provided emergency food packages and assisted more than 100 households with fresh crop inputs (casava and plantain) to secure future harvests.
Without the intervention of Shiloh and Hope, these families would have faced severe shortages of food, shelter, and long-term livelihood options. Their swift action brought immediate relief and renewed hope for recovery.

One local chief in the lakeshore area publicly expressed gratitude, glorifying God for the support given.
Thank you for responding to these urgent needs. Our partners continue to work tirelessly to meet both immediate and long-term challenges in communities with few safety nets.
Together, we are helping families rebuild their lives and restore hope after disaster.

Stepping into Ghana for the very first time felt like walking back into the roots of Links International’s story. It was here, over 40 years ago, that our founders Norman and Grace Barnes first connected with inspiring missionaries and began building the partnerships that would shape Links’ mission.

In Malawi over a decade ago, in a small rural community, Links took a chance on what many thought was just a fad - moringa trees, sensationalised at the time as 'Miracle Trees'. Packed with vitamins and minerals, edible for both humans and livestock, fast‑growing and hardy in hot climates, these trees seemed to have real potential.
